Allison Transmission started with the commercial market market for automatic Transmissions at beginning of 1947.

Allison introduced the first cross-drive Transmission for military vehicle in 1949, following with the first full automatic Power-Shifting Transmission for industry vehicle. In 1956 Allison Transmission introduced the first full automatiske Transmissioner for trucks.

Today, Allison Transmission is one of the world´s largest designer and manufacturer of Automat Transmissions for medium and heavy commercial vehicles.

 

Allison Transmission supply over 80 % of world´s commercial automatiske transmissions, supplying  to over 250 different  builders in the world.
